Over four or eight weeks, participants will delve into nine distinct styles of popular music found in musical theatre compositions, learning to captivate audiences from TikTok to Broadway, from Instagram reels to virtual auditions.

Program Structure

Week 1: Dive into the Golden Era, The Jazz Age, and the Motown Era, embracing the roots of musical storytelling.
Week 2: Explore the complexities of Sondheim, the vibes of ’70s Folk/Rock and Disco, and the bold sounds of the ’80s and Mega Musicals.
Week 3: Immerse yourself in Contemporary Musical Theatre, Pop/Rock, Punk, R&B, and Rap, mastering modern musical expressions.
Week 4: Conclude with traditional and “legit” musical theatre, Country, and Folk, broadening your stylistic range.
